Final Golden Globe Winner Predictions

I’m always excited for the Golden Globes, the first major awards ceremony of the season, and Oscar nominations haven’t yet come out, so we still have the chance to see some big surprises that won’t actually affect the nominations since ballots are already past due.

Last year didn’t offer too many surprises, and this year very well may. There are the presumed frontrunners – “Boyhood,” “Birdman,” Eddie Redmayne, Julianne Moore, J.K. Simmons, Patricia Arquette, and “Ida,” but that’s about it. Everything else is up in the air, and if anyone else wins, that could really throw a curveball for the Oscars. I might be stupid for predicting “Into the Woods” and “Gone Girl,” but I’m sticking with those. Somehow, I managed to see all but three films nominated this year after catching “Big Hero 6” this morning. I’m missing “The Judge” (which I’ll watch on DVD in two weeks), “Maps to the Stars” (which opens February 27th), and “Tangerines” from Estonia, which I assume will be released at some point soon. It’s exciting to have seen almost everything, something that I feel like hasn’t been the case, especially this early, for a number of years for me. I think I’m mainly rooting for a nice surprise or two that doesn’t come at the expense of a deserving win being taken away from someone else. “Gett” winning Best Foreign Film would be really nice. Leave your thoughts in the comments. Let’s hope for a fun show! Head over to TVwithAbe.com for predictions in all of the TV races, and enjoy the show!
