Golden Globe Nominees: Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture

My predictions: 3/5, missing Abdi and Bruhl
Who’s missing? James Gandolfini (Enough Said), Tom Hanks (Saving Mr. Banks), Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wall Street)

So much for yesterday’s two surprise inclusions being flukes! I couldn’t be happier about Daniel Bruhl (Rush), especially since his film managed the awesome and unexpected feat of earning a Best Motion Picture – drama nomination. Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips) is looking more and more like a sure thing for an Oscar nod, which is great. His is the only performance in this category I haven’t seen, but Bradley Cooper (American Hustle) got back into the race here by bumping James Gandolfini, who I assume ended up on a lot of ballots for comedy lead acting. Tom Hanks’ chance in this category are all but shot especially considering his film’s snub in the top race, but we do have the two frontrunners, Michael Fassbender (12 Years a Slave) and Jared Leto (Dallas Buyers Club).

Who will win? Betting on Leto.
