Golden Globe Winner Predictions: Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture

The competition: Amy Adams’ supportive girlfriend (The Fighter), Helena Bonham Carter’s royal wife (The King’s Speech), Mila Kunis’ dancer (Black Swan), Melissa Leo’s manager mother (The Fighter), and Jacki Weaver’s criminal matriarch (Animal Kingdom).

For your information: This is Carter’s six career Globe nod and her third film nomination, following “Sweeney Todd” and “The Wings of the Dove.” Adams was previously nominated for “Doubt” and “Enchanted.” This is the first nomination for Kunis, Leo, and Weaver.

Who should win: A great field, minus Kinus, so really anyone.

Who will win: It’s hard to tell who’s the frontrunner at this point, but I’ll stick with Leo since the Globes often like to reward supporting pairs from the same film.

I'll still post my predictions, but I would NOT underestimate Kunis' chances. I know I'm not the only one who finds her absolutely amazing in BS and she really fits the 'hot girl status' the globe loves to reward.

A good point. I'm not sure if this category really has a frontrunner yet. I like Kunis well enough (especially in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall"), but for me, "Black Swan" is that movie this year that just didn't do it for me and continues to rack up accolade after accolade.
