Oscar Nominees: Best Original Song

My predictions: 4/5
My ballot: Coming soon!
The nominees: Fight for You (Judas and the Black Messiah), Hear My Voice (The Trial of the Chicago 7), Husavik (Eurovision Song Contest), Io Si (The Life Ahead), Speak Now (One Night in Miami)

No real surprises here, in an unusual instance of similarity to the Golden Globes lineup, subbing in Husavik (Eurovision Song Contest) for the song from “The United States vs. Billie Holiday” that didn’t make the fifteen-wide finalists list. I still have to see that parody movie to fully appreciate the value of its song, though I’ve enjoyed listening to it a few times. I’m thrilled that Io Si (The Life Ahead) is still here along with Speak Now (One Night in Miami), and I imagine those two will duke it out for the win. Fight for You (Judas and the Black Messiah) is a fine choice, and though I don’t love Hear My Voice (The Trial of the Chicago 7) as much as the rest, I’m okay with it too. You can find all these songs on YouTube to listen for yourself!

My current bet to win: I’ll stick with Io Si.
