Tuesday’s Top Trailer: Special Edition

Welcome to a weekly feature here at Movies with Abe, Tuesday's Top Trailer. One of my favorite parts about going to see movies is the series of trailers that airs beforehand and, more often than not, the trailer is far better than the actual film. Each week, I'll be sharing a trailer I've recently seen. Please chime in with comments on what you think of the trailer and how you think the movie is going to be.

2013 Trailer Mash-Up

In searching for a trailer to feature this week – the ones that I saw before “Inside Llewyn Davis” and “Blue is the Warmest Color” this Sunday just didn’t cut it – I couldn’t find anything that I liked. I was thrilled, however, to find the first trailer mash-up of the year featured on Awards Daily this past Saturday evening. This is one of my favorite things of the year, a compilation of fleeting images and sounds from all of the most popular movies, tethered together by theme and with music. This six-minute-long edition has three full music changes, and switches tone throughout a few times, which is just terrific. It had me cheering for some of the movies I loved this year each time I saw them, and remembering which ones I hadn’t thought about for a while but enjoyed so much when I had the chance to screen them at Sundance or earlier this year. It also had me recognizing what indies I can’t even identify and which blockblusters I didn’t see. Kudos to The Sleepy Skunk and DJ Earworm for creating this first of hopefully many such videos to come this season. Enjoy!
