SAG Nominees: Best Actress in a Leading Role

My predictions: 4/5, missing Aniston
Who’s missing? Hilary Swank (The Homesman), Amy Adams (Big Eyes), Jessica Chastain (The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby)

Now I was all ready to sub in Jennifer Aniston (Cake) as the fifth Golden Globe nominee in my revised predictions, and I imagine that now she won’t get nominated just to really confuse people. I am happy that Swank didn’t get recognized since I hated her movie, and I’m just hoping she doesn’t wait until Oscar nominations morning to surprise. Aniston’s inclusion is a shock, mainly because it means that, along with another former SAG nominee for television comedy, Steve Carell, she’s being recognized for transformational dramatic work. If only I had seen the film already – I did manage to catch Julianne Moore (Still Alice) in her film this past weekend, and will have a review up soon. She seems like the solid frontrunner, joined by expected nominees Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl), Reese Witherspoon (Wild), and Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything). Jones is the only one whose film got recognized in the Best Ensemble category.

Who could win? I think Moore is way ahead until Aniston really surprises.
