Golden Globe Nominees: Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy/Musical

My predictions: 4/5, picking Jones over McGregor
Who’s missing? Tommy Lee Jones (Hope Springs), Channing Tatum (Magic Mike)

I couldn’t decide whether Tommy Lee Jones would ride his “Lincoln” buzz or Channing Tatum his “Sexiest Man Alive” victory to take the fifth slot, and instead, we got someone entirely different. My momentarily confused brain had me mistakenly thinking that Ewan McGregor (Salmon Fishing in the Yemen) had been nominated for “The Impossible” along with his costar Naomi Watts rather than for his comedy from much earlier this year, which I have yet to see. Joining him are two nominees from yesterday, Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook) and Hugh Jackman (Les Miserables), whose films both earned an impressive take of four nominations. The category is rounded out by two players highly expected to show up here, Jack Black (Bernie) and Bill Murray (Hyde Park on Hudson). I have two entries in this category left to see, but, thus far, it’s a fun race.

Who could win? This seems like Jackman, but it could very well be any of the others except for McGregor.
