Golden Globe Nominees: Best Original Score

My predictions: 2/5
What’s missing? Beasts of the Southern Wild, Brave, The Master, Moonrise Kingdom

I didn’t do terribly well in this category, guessing only obvious nominees Lincoln and Life of Pi. Alexandre Desplat, who scored a whopping five Globe nominees this year, made it in for Argo, whose score I can’t wholly remember, over the wonderful “Moonrise Kingdom.” I’m also very upset about the snub of “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” which was completely shut out. The other two nominees didn’t show up anywhere besides here despite potential expectations to the contrary: Anna Karenina and Cloud Atlas. I’ll examine composers’ Globe records in my winner predictions, and I plan to listen to as many tracks as I can find from each of these soundtracks to see which is really best.

What could win? Probably Life of Pi.
